Entwicklung von Methoden zur Optimierung und Analyse von medizinischen Bilder der Magnetresonanztomographie (MR) und Positronen-Emissions-Tomographie (PET). Die Arbeitsgebiete beinhalten:
1.) Automatische Bildqualitätsermittlung
Bei der MRT gibt es eine Vielzahl verschiedener Aufnahmetechniken und Kontraste. Für eine gute Diagnostik steht eine hohe Bildqualität stets im Fokus. Eine automatische referenz-freie Analyse der akquirierten Bildqualität erlaubt es, den Radiologen bei der Befundung zu unterstützen oder dem Scanner/Bediener Feedback über die erzielte Qualität zu geben mit möglicher Parameteranpassung.
Die Bildqualitätsermittlung kann mittels Modellierung des menschlichen Sehsystems über ein maschinelles Lernverfahren bestehend aus Feature Extraktion und Klassifkation aus überwachten Trainingsdaten erreicht werden. Die Schwerpunkte sind:
- Active Learning
- Feature Extraktion und Reduktion
- Deep Learning
- Klassifikation (Deep Neural Network, Support Vector Machine)
2.) PET/MR Bewegungskorrektur
Die neu entwickelte hybride PET/MR Technologie ermöglicht durch die Kombination der hochauflösenden MR mit der hohen molekularen Sensibilität der PET kontrastreichere und präzisere Ganzkörperaufnahmen bei simultaner Datenakquirierung. Im Bereich der Onkologie ist die Feststellung und Quantifizierung der Läsionen besonders wichtig. Patientenbewegung, respiratorische und kardiale Bewegung in-vivo führen jedoch zu ungewollten Bewegungsartefakten im MRT und PET Bild, was mit Auflösungsverlusten einhergeht. Die Aufgabe besteht darin, die Bewegungen korrekt zu detektieren und wieder zu korrigieren. Die Methode soll für die klinischen Routine anwendbar sein.
Hierbei kommen in der Aufnahme spezielle MRT Sequenzen, sowie Compressed Sensing Techniken zum Einsatz um die Bewegung schnell und akkurat aufzuzeichnen. Die im rekonstruierten MR Bild aufgelöste nicht-rigide Bewegung wird mittels Bildregistrierung extrahiert und damit das PET Bild korrigiert. Die Schwerpunkte sind:
- 4D (3D+Zeit) MR Bildgebung
- Generierung von optimalen Compressed Sensing Unterabtastungsmasken
- Compressed Sensing mit Bewegungskompensation
- Bildregistrierung
